The James Street Art Crawl has seen an interesting mix of visual art and musical performances develop but few spectacles match what the Hamilton Artists Inc. offers for its annual fundraiser. This weekend they offer the official after party for this month’s art crawl with the15th annual Artopia.

NO DOWN PAYMENT, NO HOME: LET’S GET INTO SAVING MODE by Darrin DeRoches I had a call this week about a “no money down mortgage”. The person was informed by his bank that if he was able to borrow the down payment from another source, a minimum of 5 per cent, he then would be able to get a mortgage from this large Canadian bank. Unfortunately, the rules changed about six months ago and you are no longer able to secure a no money down mortgage or a 40 year mortgage.
The part that irked me was the major bank is basically telling the consumer to find the 5 per cent down and then they can help them secure the mortgage, or better yet, their dream home. [ more ]
