SOUND - BOYS OF THUNDER by Adam Grant With Hamilton primarily looked at as a haven for all things rock n’ roll, Boys of Thunder are a relative anomaly — well, sort of. While its co–conspirators mostly look toward punk and rock acts of yesteryear as their main influences, they sound about as hip hop as someone who would list Run DMC or Fresh Prince as acts they felt most attached to.
Featuring Matt Barrett and James Brown, Boys of Thunder is a two–man operation formed out of the confines of a local Purolator location. [ more ]

HMN - DEAN LICKYER - AUG28 by Ric Taylor It seems like it’s almost been a lifetime since we last wrote about High Voltage. But when you’re barely 19, every year can mark such dramatic change. In the last two years, the five–piece has been pruned down to four , released a CDEP, decided to opt for a name change to Dean Lickyer and hooked up with a slew of industry luminaries as they position themselves to take on North America long before they can legally drink south of the border.
